Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
