A man who spiked treats with sedative and gave them to children at a youth camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two children both nine and 10.

The accused was taken into custody after eight youngsters and an older person fell ill at the facility in July.

The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 charges when he appeared at the judicial center on the end of the week.

Yet, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was charged with, which was concerning a nine-year-old child.

The accused was kept in jail prior to a further hearing on November 28th.

'Treat game'

The prosecutor, prosecuting, detailed the criminal behavior to the judicial body.

She explained his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a youth camp which he managed.

The defendant engaged in a "treat game" with the minors, Mrs Prior said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and request they to ingest treats "as fast as possible".

She stated to the judge the defendant had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously become sick the next day.

She explained the man had been successful in rationalizing this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had concerns in July 2025.

Mrs Prior KC added: "In the summer" his family member had suspicions about the activities, with valid cause.

"They chose" to examine in the man's possessions."

Mrs Prior KC said objects including lubricant, petroleum jelly and syringes were located, and his stepson notified the authorities about his concerns.

She explained the man proceeded to engage in the "treat game" with six youngsters that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the subsequent day.

"The police had not gone out by that stage," she stated further.

The regulatory agency, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining the police response of the events.

Mrs Prior explained the youngsters were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member called the police a second time.

She said the man then engaged in the "candy game" in a area of five children.
